Extension of the Regents Competency Test (RCT) Safety Net for Students with Disabilities: Amendment to section 100.5 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Diploma Requirements for Students with Disabilities
-
This is to inform you that the Board of Regents has approved for permanent adoption the amendment of section 100.5 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education relating to diploma requirements for students with disabilities. The amended regulations extend the existing RCT safety net for an additional year to make it available to all students with disabilities entering grade 9 prior to September 2011 (i.e., students with disabilities entering grade 9 in the 2010-11 school year). The RCTs are available to these students until they graduate or until the end of the school year in which they turn 21. These regulations became permanently effective on January 7, 2010.
